biotechniques2017   The 7th International Conference on Biotechniques for Air Pollution Control and Bioenergy (Biotechniques-2017) will take place in July 19-21, 2017, in the Conference Center of La Coruña, Spain (Palexco). This biannual international conference is an international showcase for anything related to the application of environmental biotechnology for air pollution control, treatment processes in bioreactors and clean (bio) fuels production.

The event is organized by the BIOENGIN group. This team focuses its main activities on bioprocess engineering, environmental engineering applied to wastewater, waste and waste gas treatment, industrial biotechnology, as well as fermentation and bioconversion processes to obtain biofuels and bioproducts (e.g., biopolymers).

Some of the topics that will be discussed in this conference are:

  • Treatment of air pollution: use of bacteria, fungi, algae, and plants.
  • Bioreactors for air pollution control and bioconversion processes.
  • Prevention of air pollution: Production and upgrading of biofuels, such as (bio)hydrogen, biodiesel, (bio)ethanol, biogas, or desulfurized fuels.
  • Waste gas and syngas (CO, CO2, H2) bioconversion.
  • Carbon dioxide (CO2) capture or removal.
  • Metabolic engineering and strain improvement.
