The Portuguese Association of Environmental Engineering - APEA (Associação Portuguesa de Engenharia do Ambiente) organized a very International Odour Conference, the days 16th and 17th May 2019. Many well-known speakers around the world and many Portuguese odour experts met in this conference to talk a bit about odour management.
The program of the conference was assorted with a nice selection of topics focusing on both introductory essays on odour management and advanced issues on odour abatement. In addition, there were some workshops for different sectors, including, waste, industry and wastewater.
Around 40 people attended this well organized event. The sessions were given in both English and Portuguese, with direct translation. Next event is expected to take place again next year, so stay tuned here for more info about ODOURS 20.
A couple of days before this event, the D-NOSES consortium took place in the near city of Porto, so many participants in this project participated also in this conference.
During this conference the organizers announced that they commenced the first steps with some key stakeholders towards the development of a new legislation on odour impact in Portugal.
