The 4th IWA Conference on Odours and Vocs, Emission, control techniques, dispersion, measurements and impact Emission, control techniques, dispersion, measurements and impact, will take place in Vitoria, Brazil, from the 17th to the 21st of October 2011.
An increasing demand for electronic instruments that can mimic biological olfaction processes led to the development of electronic nose and tongue systems, that is, intelligent chemical sensor arrays for odor classification and/or gas discrimination. Such systems include the materials to build the sensing elements, the device architecture, and intelligent signal processing methods. Nanotechnology has enabled the development of handheld electronic olfaction systems that are promising non-invasive health monitoring tools, as well as environmental testing and quality control devices.
