The first ISOEN was held in 1994 in Toulouse (France). The reasons for the creation of this symposium were to strengthen information exchange with the objective to present high quality research, to promote interactions of professionals for the advancement of odour characterisation, and to analyse complex product variation.After conferences in America in 2011 and in Asia in 2013, ISOEN is now in Europe in 2015.

The Digital Olfaction Society (DOS) hold the first congress on digital olfaction in 2013 in Berlin, Germany. Looks like it was very successfull as just a bit more than a year later they are organizing a new event. This time, DOS is organizing an international congress inTokyo, Japan between the 8 and 9th of December 2014.
